At MRITHIKA, our clay cookware is made from 100% natural clay. To ensure long life and best performance, proper seasoning and handling are essential.

Please follow the instructions carefully before using your clay cookware.

🌿 Before First Use (Seasoning Process)

Clay cookware must be seasoned before first use.

Step 1: Soaking

  • Soak the clay pot completely in clean water for 8–12 hours.
  • Ensure the entire pot is submerged.

Step 2: Drying

  • Remove from water.
  • Allow it to air dry completely in shade.
  • Do not dry under direct sunlight.

Step 3: Starch Treatment (Optional but Recommended)

  • Apply rice starch water (ganji) inside the pot.
  • Let it dry naturally.

This strengthens the clay and prevents cracks.

🔥 Cooking Instructions

To prevent cracks or damage:

  • Always start cooking on low flame.
  • Never place clay cookware directly on high flame.
  • Increase heat gradually.
  • Use a heat diffuser if possible.
  • Avoid sudden temperature changes.

🚫 Important Precautions

❌ Do not preheat empty clay cookware.
❌ Do not pour cold water into a hot pot.
❌ Do not place hot pot directly on cold surface.
❌ Do not use in microwave or induction stove (unless specified).
❌ Do not use metal scrubbers for cleaning.

Clay cookware heats slowly but retains heat longer.

🧽 Cleaning Instructions

  • Allow the pot to cool completely before washing.
  • Wash using warm water.
  • Use soft scrub or coconut fiber.
  • Avoid chemical detergents (use mild soap if necessary).
  • Dry completely before storing.

Store in a dry and ventilated place.
